The ups and downs of life sometimes take a toll on us. Life events, relationship conflicts, career stress, busy lifestyle, physical illness, or mental illness can cause significant distress. But if the routine functioning of day-to-day activities at home, work, or in a social circle becomes a challenge to complete or enjoy. When irrespective of all the efforts to feel better; things continue to bother, it is time for psychotherapy.
Understandably, clients bring into the session a variety of distressful experiences. Whatever the nature and type of concern, I work towards enabling the client to recognize their strengths and adjust mental processes, behaviors, and thoughts to see things more adaptively and healthily. My practice specializes in treating individuals, couples, and families and I offer comprehensive services dealing with:
Do you worry a lot? Are the thoughts of fear, and the worst consequences of a situation bothering you?
Do you feel sad and lonely, worthless, or guilty? Are the family and friends sensing agitation in your behavior?
Are you and your partner disturbed due to frequent arguments? Do you feel like you and your partner are losing emotional connection and drifting away? Do you desire improved relations between you and your partner?
Are you unable to communicate love and affection to your children? Are you finding it a challenge to understand your teenager’s behavior? Is your child behaving out of control? Would you like to seek parenting guidance and learn about effective bonding with children?
Although, change is the only constant in life; nevertheless, it is stressful. Even a positive change such as starting College needs preparation, mindset, and adjustments to a new environment.
Has your life been touched by a major event such as a death, divorce or layoffs at work? Are you having a hard time moving through and past the emotional turmoil? Do you feel completely stuck and like you need guidance getting back on track?
Experiences with significant adults such as parents and teachers, or peers during developmental stages of school have an impact on the individual. Age-appropriate programs for students and various guidance programs for care-givers can support the psychological health of children and adolescents.
Similarly, adulthood leads to experiences at the workplace that affect the quality of life.
